For the last several years, Woodworker’s Journal has celebrated the craft of
woodturning through our Annual Turner’s Challenge. The simple concept
behind this challenge has been the same each year. Give four different
turners the four identical blocks of wood – and tell them to go turn
something. Whatever they are moved to create.
Each year the results are stunning as an homage to the creativity and
artistry of our participants. We’re presenting images from the last few
years of the challenge, just at the latest group of turners are being
presented in the October, 2007 Woodworker’s Journal. We hope you find the
results of our turning challenge inspiring and entertaining.
