Delta Scroll SawDelta says it is returning to its heritage of scroll saw woodworking machines with the launch of its new 40-690 20-in. Scroll Saw. The machine is equipped with features the company hopes will offer greater accuracy and ease of use than previous models.

The saw has a dual parallel-link arm that helps keep the blade perpendicular to the table, while reducing vibration and improving cutting control. Blades are held in place with a tool-free clamp to speed the changing process or to help free one end for setting up internal cuts.

Delta provides a variable-speed motor on this tool, which can be adjusted from 400 to 1,750 strokes per minute. An oversized cast-iron table should provide ample workpiece support, and it tilts 45° both left and right. Upfront controls, which include the speed dial, blade tensioning lever and On/Off switch are other conveniences offered here.

A flexible worklight and steel stand round out this machine's standard features. The 40-690 Scroll Saw comes with a 5-year warranty and carries a street price of $599. It is available from Delta retailers now.
